Terms of Use

Version 1.0 · In effect on October 17, 2026

The French version of this document was written first. In case of a difference, the French version prevails.

These terms form the contract between you and RM Digital Solutions LTD. for the use of ExamenCompagnon, an online service that prepares candidates for the journeyman qualification exam of the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ). They are written first in French. This English version is provided only because you expressly asked for it, after the French version was presented to you.

1. Who we are

ExamenCompagnon is independent. It is not affiliated with the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ), which has neither approved nor recognized this service. The official exam is set and marked by the CCQ only.

2. The service

ExamenCompagnon offers practice questions, practice exams, lessons, flashcards and an AI tutor to prepare you for the CCQ exam.

  • Free level. A short diagnostic, one full simulation with a free account and section 1 in practice mode, with no payment and no time limit.
  • 4-month pass. Full access for 4 months from payment, paid once, with no renewal.
  • Monthly subscription. Full access while the subscription is active.

Exam offered: carpenter-joiner journeyman qualification exam. The Pricing page always shows what is included.

The content is a study tool. It does not replace the official documents or notices of the CCQ, and it is not legal advice. We do not reproduce any statute, regulation or code text: we cite the section and link to the official source.

3. Your account

You must give an accurate email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for the use of your account. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you believe it was used without your permission.

The account is personal. You may not share it, resell access, or extract the content by automated means (bots, scraping, bulk copying).

4. Subscription, price and payment

  • Term. The monthly subscription has an indeterminate term and renews every month until you cancel it. The 4-month pass has a fixed term of 4 months from payment and does not renew. There is no annual plan and no minimum term.
  • Price. 4-month pass: $79 plus GST, one payment for 4 months, no renewal. Monthly subscription: $24.99 per month, plus GST. Applicable taxes (GST [TPS], or HST depending on the province) are calculated from your billing address and shown in detail before payment and on every invoice. No other fees are added.
  • Payment. The pass is paid once. The monthly subscription is charged in advance at the start of each monthly period, through our payment processor Stripe. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit and debit cards. The monthly charge happens on the same day each month as your subscription date.
  • Start. The contract starts when the first payment is accepted. Your access starts as soon as the payment is confirmed.
  • Copy of the contract. Within 15 days after the contract is made, we email you a copy of these terms in the version you accepted.
  • Promotion codes. No promotion codes are offered at launch. If you are offered a reduced price or a subscription pause, we will notify you before that offer ends, as the law requires.

5. Cancellation by you

You may cancel the subscription at any time, with no fee or penalty:

  • from Settings, Billing, with the "Cancel my subscription" button (two clicks at most);
  • or by email at [email protected].

Cancelling stops the subscription from renewing. You keep access to paid content until the end of the period already paid, and nothing more is charged. The current period is not refunded. The details are in the Cancellation and Refund Policy. Your access to the free level continues.

6. Termination or suspension by us

We may end the service or your subscription by giving you written notice at least 60 days in advance. We then refund the unused part of any paid period.

If we find fraud, account sharing or automated extraction of the content, we may suspend your access. We tell you by email with the reason, and you can reply to dispute it. If the suspension leads to the end of the subscription, we refund the unused part of the paid period.

7. Changes to the terms or the price

If we change a clause of these terms or the price, we send you a clearly written notice at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The notice sets out the new or amended clause, the earlier version, and the date the change takes effect.

If the change increases your obligations or reduces ours, you may refuse it and cancel the subscription with no cost, penalty or cancellation indemnity, by telling us no later than 30 days after it takes effect. The cancellation then works as described in section 5, and nothing more is charged.

8. Intellectual property

The questions, explanations, lessons and other ExamenCompagnon content belong to us or are licensed to us. You may use them for your personal study. You may not reproduce, publish or resell them without our written permission. The notes you write belong to you.

9. No guarantee of success

We work to keep the content accurate and current, and we revise it when the rules or the fees change. We cannot guarantee that you will pass the CCQ exam: that depends on your preparation and on the exam itself.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for our own acts or those of our representatives. We are liable for the damage we cause through our fault, under the rules of Québec law.

11. Your reviews

You are free to publish your opinion of ExamenCompagnon, positive or negative, wherever you want. No clause of these terms prevents you from doing so or penalizes you for it.

12. Governing law and remedies

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You keep every remedy the Consumer Protection Act [Loi sur la protection du consommateur] gives you.

These terms contain no mandatory arbitration clause and do not prevent you from taking part in a class action. You may go to the courts of Québec.

13. Clauses that would not apply in Québec

These terms are written for Québec consumers. None of their clauses aims to remove a right the law gives you. If a clause did not apply in Québec, it would be preceded by a clear statement to that effect. If a clause were found to be void, the others would continue to apply.

14. Personal information

How we handle your personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
